Vanessa Valadez is a multi-disciplinary artist and photo instructor born and based in Chicago; she is a photographer, a graphic artist, and a musician. She blends her love of film photography with her digital work to create a succinct and recognizable style. Her portraiture has highlighted local and international artists and has been featured in publications such as NPR, Decibel, and Revolver.
In addition to her portrait work, Vanessa enjoys travel in a way that is beyond leisure, traveling often in search of like-minded individuals, diverse perspectives, and lasting cultural exchanges. She strives to convey a narrative through her travel work, encapsulating the unique energy of each place explored.
Vanessa also teaches Intro to Film Photography at the Chicago Photography School and in the summer teaches digital photography in Tokyo, Japan.
